Microchanneling vs. Microneedling
Both microchanneling and microneedling work by creating controlled microtrauma in the skin, triggering the repair response that drives collagen synthesis. That core mechanism is the same. Where they diverge is in precision, delivery method, and recovery profile.
Microneedling uses a gliding or rolling motion across the skin. Microchanneling uses a stamping motion, which creates vertical channels with consistent depth and no lateral friction. That reduction in surrounding tissue disruption is what shortens the recovery window for microchanneling and reduces the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, particularly in deeper skin tones.
The other key difference is what happens during treatment. With Procell Microchanneling, growth factor serums are infused through the open channels directly into the dermis while the skin is receptive. That intra-dermal delivery extends the collagen-stimulating signal beyond what microtrauma alone produces. Both modalities have a place in corrective skincare. The right choice depends on the skin concern, the client's tolerance, and the treatment goal.
